I worked simultaneously on some of the Butterflies and prima verde monotypes, so they mixed. These have the perpendicular rectangle format of the smaller Butterflies, yet the metallics of my prima verdes.

The title is from my sense of removing layers to reveal light, the image within the paper. This to me is like a miner of metals or an archaeologist digging and gently removing sediment to reveal treasure. Of course, paraphrasing Michelangelo who believed the figure was in the marble, he was releasing it.
